The Scarsdale Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down a porch pirate who was caught on camera stealing a package in front of a Graham Road home on Friday afternoon.

Investigators at the Scarsdale Police Department received a report at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Friday, March 1, of a package theft that had just taken place, Det. Lt. Edward Murphy said.

Murphy said that within minutes of the delivery being dropped off, an African American man wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and hat exited a white SUV that was being driven by a second suspect. The man took the package, returned to the SUV, which took off south on Graham Road toward Lincoln Road.

Police said that it appears that the suspects were following the delivery truck.

The incident is currently being investigated by detectives in Scarsdale, Murphy said. Anyone who has information regarding the incident, or who recognizes the suspect or SUV has been asked to contact investigators at the Scarsdale Police Department by calling (914) 722-1200.
